Highway noise too much
I read the mixed reviews on the highway noise at White Sage Cottage and decided to give it chance. While it was a bit noisy inside the cabin with the windows closed, the noise from the highway, which had heavy traffic with many semi-trucks, made it impossible to sit on the porch and carry on a conversation. The stream mention in the ad was dry in October or so very nearly so there was no movement of water and I expect it would be near impossible at any flow rate to be heard above the road noise. Be sure if you plan to use the second bedroom with bunk beds that the people using those are young children. The beds are definitely not large or supportive enough for larger teenage children or adults. In its favor, it was otherwise clean and comfortable. The very short road to it was smooth and the location was convenient. I was, overall, disappointed in that I did not feel the quiet and relaxing atmosphere of past cabins I rented which were further off main highways. I will say, however, that the last two cabins I rented had very bad roads that easily scraped the bottom of my Subaru Impreza which is all wheel drive - so perhaps some people would prefer this trade off of easy access and high noise level.
