We appreciated Leah hosting us and did our best to enjoy the cabin for a weekend but there were definitely a few things that were lacking. Before driving up to Camp Nelson I made sure to call Leah and ask about the bedding situation, she told me to bring an extra comforter which was absolutely necessary - but had I not called I wouldn't have known to bring extra bedding. Although the cabin technically sleeps 4, the accommodations are only provided for two people (tableware, sufficient bedding, cups, etc.). There was a half roll of toilet paper when we got there and no paper towels. The biggest downside was that when we got there, there was a note on the counter explaining that the fireplace had a leak and we couldn't use it. This was a huge disappointment because it was the main reason that we rented the cabin. We had bought multiple bundles of firewood prior to getting there which was a waste of money. After leaving Camp Nelson and gaining back cell phone reception I was able to get a message that Leah had sent the day we arrived offering us an extra night at the cabin or a handyman to come out the next day for the fireplace. Because there is no wifi or cell phone reception at the cabin, there was absolutely no way for us to retrieve these messages. The cabin has solid bones and it is a cute basic place to stay for a few nights - but make sure to bring sufficient supplies as if you were going camping (TP, paper towels, extra towels, blankets, extra bowls and silverware if you have more than 2 people) - it's pretty bare bones. Camp Nelson itself is an incredible little town, it's so beautiful and has a couple of cute taverns to hang at.
