Your own hacienda with a view of heaven
Amazing place that was perfect for our family reunion. We loved the old hacienda style with wood beams and lots of decorative tile work. Lots of seating areas inside and out so we could all be together but also spread out. The bed situation was perfect for our group: master, another king (I think), two twins and then a room with one twin. Games were in a cabinet so the capitalists amongst us had a Monopoly game that spanned two days. In early April the pool was only warm enough for the youngest to use. When I read previous reviews, I became a little worried about the bathroom situation. It wasn't a problem and one of the reviews was, in my mind, misleading. There are two showers, one in the master and another between two other half baths (the Dick and Jane). Then there is another half bath off the laundry. So in our family situation, it wasn't a problem to share shower facilities. If this were a retreat of strangers, it might be different. It's also quite close to shopping so it's easy to run to pick up an item at the grocery. True, it's a half hour drive to some of the common tourist sights. Kitchen was well appointed. We liked the house so much we actually did a lot less sight-seeing than originally planned. We liked just relaxing and talking in the lovely setting. The grounds outside the lovely patios is some what rustic but lovely to walk around. We had two owls join us a couple nights (I think they might have been Great Horned owls) and heard coyotes. The views are lovely. You're right up along side of the Saguaro National Park with hiking trails within a few miles. (Note, dogs aren't allowed except on paved trails in the Park.) Tom welcomed us and showed us around. He was very flexible about arrival and departure times and lovely to work with.
