Everything you need for seeing the city and downtime
First- remember that Charleston is an old city. Very old. All the buildings are old. That's part of the charm. This property is in great shape compared to others. Renovations were done well, incorporating some modern luxuries while keeping the historic nature of the building. The layout is good for group cooking, drinks, or chatting. Drinks and socializing on the verandah after a long day of sightseeing was fun. It may seem the location is not the best, but it works great for sightseeing. Close enough to downtown to walk or a cheap taxi ride. Far enough away from the main streets to be quieter and easier to get in and out. And easy access to freeways if you are exploring farther reaches. Little grocery store across the street, several bars & restaurants within walking distance. I would definitely stay here again on a future visit.
