Spectacular Property in the Catalina Foothills
My wife and I spent a fantastic week at this property near Ventana Canyon in the Tucson metropolitan area the first week of March. We highly recommend this property. The house is magnificent with a setting that places it on a private road right against the mountains. The views of the Saguaro cacti that surround the property are impressive and the desert scenery is matched by a stunning night time view of Tuscon down in the valley. We particularly enjoyed being on the west patio which is cantilevered over the canyon stream. Here, we listened to the water while the sun set and then enjoyed the lights of Tucson as they began to glow in the distance. Frogs serenaded us one evening, javelinas ran by another, and for birdwatchers like us -- this was paradise! The house is architecturally stunning. It's expansive windows are complemented by the beamed vaulted ceilings, an up-to-date modern kitchen with plenty of storage space for pantry items, fresh fruits, vegetables and anything else you might want to pick up from the nearby supermarket. The master bedroom has a fireplace, a walk-in shower, and separate outdoor entrances. All appliances and furnishings worked perfectly. The property manager lives in a small casita across a courtyard from the main house. She is absolutely wonderful. She is very responsive and will ensure your visit is perfect and that you have everything you need. This property is located in northeast Tucson. It provides easy access to the Catalina Foothills, Sabino Canyon, Tanque Verde, Agua Caliente Park, the Catalina Highway up Mount Lemmon, and the Rincons. If you have never been to Tucson, please note that downtown Tucson and I-10 on the west side are about thirty minutes because Tucson does not have a cross-town expressway. Thus, my wife and I feel that part of the charm of Tucson is cruising down its broad boulevards with the windows open, the sun shining in, and the Arizona Sky Island mountains surrounding you on all four sides. We are bird watchers that spend a week in Tucson each year. If you are bird watchers like us then we can tell you that the property around the house has resident Anna's and Broadbilled hummingbirds, Cactus Wren, Canyon Wren, Vermillion Flycatchers, Curve-billed Thrashers and others. Also, you can make all the major Tucson birding locations within 30 to 45 minutes. Trips to Madera Canyon, Patagonia, and many other Important Bird Areas are an easy day trip from this wonderful house.
