What an oasis!
My husband and I have stayed at many VRBO properties, but this was by far the best. Response to my initial inquiry was prompt and communication was very helpful over the next few days while our trip was being finalized. From the moment we arrived, we knew that this was quite a special place. Imagine finding snacks and goodies, as well as a bottle of wine, waiting for you after a long trip, with a big "Welcome to Tucson" sign. Attention to detail is the key to any good property and everywhere we turned, there was evidence of careful thought and planning to make any traveler feel right at home. Comfortable beds, soft towels, toiletries galore in case you needed/forgot something, books, games, you name it, Carolyn had thought of it and made it available. The backyard was inviting and morning coffee was even better outside - you have your choice of the couch seating area or table and chairs. And don't forget the complimentary fruit that obviously was picked from someone's garden. It felt like we were staying with friends that knew exactly what we needed while we were in town. I can only hope that if we ever return to Tucson that this property will be available. Couldn't think of any other place I could stay at that would match the caliber of this property. It was close to the Pima Air Museum, which is mainly why we were in the area, but it is also close to the downtown area which seems to be where the more trendy (and less chain type) restaurants and bars are. We did rent a car, which is needed since the property is in a residential area - not sure of any public transportation. But with a full kitchen, a grocery store nearby and Netflix and lots of starry nights out back for late night dessert, who needs to go out at all? Places like this are why I never stay in hotels; even if it's a few dollars more, this property is why Carolyn and her girls will be so successful. They have made their renovation extend past the physical into a dream property for travelers like us and hopefully many others.
