Its a bit sparse
The pros--its about the least expensive place near downtown Boone and was clean. It looked nice outside and has a new gravel drive. Its quiet and secluded. The kitchen is at least average stocked with items. The cons-well, it looks like a student apartment. The total wall art was a poster in the bathroom with a bunch of graffitti and a wall plate display in the kitchen missing 1 of 4 plates. The living room has a 3 seat sofa, no chairs, no end tables, no lamps. There is not a lamp in the house, just really bright overhead fixtures or ceiling fans. If you have 4 people then one stands I guess. Don't plan on reading. All the windows apparently had mini blinds once and when removed it was too much trouble to remove the brackets I guess because they are there with no curtains. The window in the DR has an AC unit and a nice big peice of cardboard with some haphazzard duct tape. The bedrooms were pretty much in the same condition and the closets have no doors. The water heater resides in the hallway with the W-D in an alcove, again no doors. The deck has 3 folding lawn chairs, one is broken. The firepit has 2 chairs and is a mess. Couldnt find the grill. The fridge was set very cold and after buying $40 of really nice local organic veggies at the Watauga Farmers market(Go there!) they all froze. Enough said to convey my feelings. Even my kids who are students at App said most student apts are nicer and this was probably a student rental that didnt get rented.
Family owned cabin 2 miles to the town of Boone. Gated and safe for family!
