Room for everyone
All in all, I would recommend this property. Stayed here a few days with extended family. The bedrooms (comfortable beds!) are roomy so everyone had a place of their own with room for their gear. The living room was big enough to gather and the kitchen had pretty much everything you might want. The kitchen table seats 4, as stated. It would be nice to have an extra chair around to be able to scrunch someone in. We had five and ended up using one of our lawn chairs for extra seating. Unfortunately the weather wasn't quite warm enough for outdoor dining but there's a nice table and chairs outside, too. The backyard enclosed deck was a great place to let the dogs hang out. The walk to the beach is a little longer than 2 blocks - closer to 4. Not being picky but my elderly dad is a bit limited and we found those extra blocks were a bit too much. We drove him to the beach so he could use his walking time on the beach, instead of just getting to it. Not a big deal, just something to take into account. The beach itself is great - lots of walking room, very few other people. We had fun sitting around the firepit one night - bring wood or buy it from one of the many local sellers. WiFi, TV, all appliances, etc were in great working order. We only used the washer and dryer as we were checking out but if we’d been staying longer they would have been handy. The town of Rockaway doesn't have a lot to see/do (we were there for the beach), however you're only 30+ minutes away from Cannon Beach and 20 minutes or so from Tillamook with some cute towns in between. We bought crab from the marina just north of the house one night – ask them to cook it for you or bring a large pot to cook your own. David was great to work with – always quick responses, an easy transaction, my deposit refund was in process the day after we checked out. And he didn't make me feel bad when I told him we’d broken a glass!
