Doesn't get much better!
If you're looking for an amazing alternative to condo / hotel stays on Oahu, this is it! Perfect location, just ever so slightly away from the mass hustle and bustle of downtown Waikiki. Close to absolutely everything you need for shopping / food, transit, walking distance to beaches, perfect location for firework viewing. Super easy access to and from the airport as well as to all major routes for touring about. The boat is plenty big enough for a couple and easy to use. You could easily have another couple or 2 kids as well. The boat does sway a bit so not recommended for people with motion sickness. It was very comfortable and quiet for sleeping. No A/C but several fans. Steps are steep to bathrooms and cabins, but no more than your average boat. Hallways and bathrooms (showering area) are tight but comfortable for average sized people. Kitchen / eating / outdoor area are spectacular. They open up to create one big space and are perfect for entertaining. Cooking was easy, we BBQ'd most nights and the fridge is deep for plenty of food. All the basics for cooking were provided. We enjoyed watching the sunrise from the front of the boat each morning with our coffee, and the sunset from the back with a glass of wine each night! You likely don't need a car if you prefer to use public transport or cab, but we highly recommend it if you want to venture out around the island on your own time (traffic is crazy!). Parking is available ($10/day) which is reasonable for Oahu. It's close by and a pass is provided. While not a "secured" area persay, there was always tons of security patrolling. The marina is home to many of the local tour operators so there are a lot of people coming and going. It is also home to a community park so there are a lot of people milling about in general. There is a public washroom close by but it is very public!! We preferred to walk a little further to the washrooms that are solely for the marina's use. A key is provided, they are older but clean and secure. Leaving the boat to use the washroom is inconvenient but part of staying on a moored boat...I wouldn't recommend if you have trouble "holding it" for any length of time! Music, guide books, beach towels, 2 sets of keys provided. The boat was clean. In need of a few small minor repairs but overall a pleasure to stay on. Amy was a wonderful host, met us late in the evening and went over all the things we needed to know and responded to texts quickly. Mahalo!
