Perfect family getaway in a mountain paradise!
My husband and I, our 2 year old son, my mom ("Be-Be") and our senior pup spent the weekend at Piney Knob Cabin. When we arrived at the cabin on Friday afternoon, we were all awe-struck at the property. Honestly, I don't think the description does it justice. It is like a truly like a fairyland. Bill and Jackzi (I'm not sure if I spelled that correctly?) were the most endearing and hospitable hosts. They took time out of their weekend to show us around their farm and introduced us to their cows and horses. I'm not sure who had more fun or who was more entertained... the adults or the toddler? Overall, this weekend will go down as one of our favorite trips in 10 years of marriage. We grabbed some groceries at the Ingles in Lake Lure (a good 15 minute drive), grilled both evenings and ate dinner outside. We brought some citronella candles with us because we were expecting the mosquitoes and flies to be bad (like they are in the Upstate of SC where we live)... but we weren't even bothered by pest insects during dinner! The Cabin is small (think "Tiny House"); but it was all part of the charm and coziness. Three adults, a little guy (with more energy than the adults combined) and an old terrier did just fine. Be-Be, the toddler and I shared the master bed and my husband stayed on the futon so that he could watch the TV (Clemson played Louisville on Saturday night). Buuuut if you have more than 4 adults, you should ask Bill about the Big Cabin. All the Adults LOVED the hot tub on the back porch. It was the perfect way to warm up on a chilly evening/morning. I can't say enough to impart how much we enjoyed our stay at Bill and Jackzi's farm in the Little Piney Knob Cabin. Thank you SO much for an unforgettable weekend! :) P.S. All our love to Pup and Bud.
