Wish we could have stayed longer.
Where do I begin. It was a little difficult to find after dark so I would recommend trying to get there during the daytime. Make sure to download or print the directions Julie gives you after you book. Once we arrived we were more than satisfied with the Red House and it's location. The heat was on and everything was nice, clean, and cozy. The kitchen is really well stocked with all your cooking and eating supplies. All you need to bring is the food you want to cook, paper supplies, towels, and sheets. The 4 of us stayed 3 nights. We had one partly cloudy day so we were able to hike crabtree falls. We also walked around the property up to "the knob" a couple times. We saw deer a few times during our walks. There was plenty of fire wood so we kept a fire going in the fireplace most of the time. The day it rained we stayed in, played board games, drank tea, and enjoyed each others company. There was a telephone and wifi which was very convenient but don't count on your cell service working out there. It was obvious the house has been well cared for. We felt special and privileged to stay at a place so cherished by generations of families. We definitely want to go back during the spring and fall seasons and maybe even next winter too.
