Property Description

CHARMING TWO BEDROOM ON THE ROARING FORK RIVER: Though not located far, just over a bridge, from the Intersection of HWY 82, this home is surrounded by country and open views. The living room hosts a wonderful library of books, wood burning fireplace, TV, DVD, stereo and views. The TV is cable, includes HBO and Showtime channels. There is Internet and phone. The kitchen is fully stocked with an abundance of appliances, dishware and cook & bake ware including but not limited to microwave, toaster oven, toaster, blenders, electric coffee pots, Belgian Waffle maker and crock pot. Separating the kitchen from the deck is a small dining room that seats up to 6. The deck over looks the river, has a café table and chairs set, umbrella and propane grill. Master features King bed, Jacuzzi tub, TV and views and sounds of the river. Guest bedroom features a double bed, a single bed, desk and CD player. Home sleeps 5. The bathroom has a walk-in shower; the hall has mirrored and lighted vanity with a second sink and a laundry closet with washer and dryer. The home has hair dryer, curling iron, iron & ironing board, clothes steamer, vacuum, fans, humidifiers and supplies.

This two bedroom is the top floor of a tri-plex that has 2 long-term renters in the units below. There is a community fire pit at the edge of the river. Above the fire pit is a picnic area with charcoal BBQs, garden swing, table & chairs. From the property one can fish or walk to other nearby fishing spots, access a put-in or continue and follow the River Walk Trail to Basalt. Often numerous and colorful rafters and kayakers negotiate the river. The riders & guides know a section of the river, just beyond the home, as “Toothache”. Above the home is the Rio Grande Trail used by spurts of bike riders.

The Aspen/Snowmass area is 14 miles east and Old Town Basalt/Willits are 4 miles west from the intersection of HWY 82. Carbondale is about 12 miles west and Glenwood Springs another 20 miles. There is year round shopping, dining, recreation, historical sites, tours and events in Aspen, Snowmass Village, Old Town Basalt, Willits, Carbondale and Glenwood Springs. An expansive City Market and the new Whole Foods are at Willits. The RFTA buses stop at the HWY 82 intersection and travel both east and west.

Crossing the intersection of HWY 82 and continuing on Snowmass Creek Rd, takes one through Old Snowmass, up to Shield O Mesa and to back roads to Snowmass Village. From the home and continuing East on Lower River Rd., Woody Creek and the Woody Creek Tavern are 6 miles away.

The distance between Denver & Aspen is 198 miles. The estimated drive time is 3.5 hours. Please see driving instructions.

Excellant

We had a great 9 day November stay at the Riverside Retreat. 3 of us were on a Colorado deer hunt and the location worked out great. Easy to find and easy to get on the highway. Looks like a great spot to access the Rio Grande hiking/biking trail, trout fishing and skiing. Kim was an excellent hostess and very knowledgeable and accommodating.

Great location!

We loved being on the river! The house is very outdated and overstocked to the point that there isn't much space for what we brought. The addition of new tvs was great, but it needs a lot of repairs in general.

Wonderful!

If we ever have the opportunity to stay in the Aspen/Snowmass area again we'll be staying here again. The home is perfect in every way. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need for a group plus some. There are reams of towels, extra bedding, even note pads with pens, soaps, lotions, games, and very clean. Plenty of closet space with hangers,... Read More

Wonderful riverside retreat

We had a great trip and our stay was great on the Roaring Fork. We fished, hiked, skied, cooked, smores, and played games. I was a little worried about the one bathroom but the extra sink outside the shower area made it workable. Kitchen was stocked with everything you would need. The reading material in the bookcases is for adults only. Might want... Read More

Outstanding Property

We loved this property. Clean, spacious and offered all the amenities we needed. It was convenient to Snowmass, Basalt and other attractions. The owner was great to work with and I would definitely recommend this property.
