Located up a driveway, off the road, The Roost is a sweet, small cottage that is both historic and up to date. Enjoy pocket views to the east and out to Isle au Haut. Great for kayaking among Stonington’s beautiful islands because the Roost is an easy walk from the town’s public launching ramp – and the town’s shops, restaurants and local coffee shop. Fully-equipped kitchen and bath with shower are brand new in 2016. The living room and upstairs two bedrooms are in a building built in the 1890s as the superintendent’s office for one of the first granite quarries in Stonington. Downstairs has a living room/dining room space and the kitchen and bathroom. Stairs are narrow and steep. Upstairs has one private bedroom and a spacious room at the top of the stairs that can be used as a sitting room or as a second bedroom with futon. Towels and bedding provided. Full laundry.
Finally, the porch makes the experience! Perfect for your vacation reading or a lobster dinner. Always cooled by onshore winds. Behind The Roost are woods, granite and gorgeous views. The owners live next door.+ More
