The Comforts of Home -- This Cottage has a comfy sitting room on the front porch. For your pleasure, relax in the spacious Lounge Room (garage area) and play your favorite games or watch movies on the large TV w/DVD and AIR TV channels. An entertainment center has a stereo (Radio). A host of various games, cards and puzzles are for your enjoyment.
The master bedroom has a Full size bed, Flat Screen TV w/AIR TV channels; and a ½ bath. Bedroom 2 has 2 twin beds, TV w/AIR TV channels. All Bed Linens are included. The cozy living room has a Queen Sofa-bed, matching Love-seat and large Flat Screen TV w/Basic Cable and DVD (many DVD's to choose from). The main Bathroom has a step-in Tub/Shower. To complete your shower needs, a hair dryer and bath towels are all included. There is also an outdoor shower.
The kitchen is fully equipped with a large stainless steel side by side refrigerator/freezer, stove, microwave, dinnerware, flatware, cookware, Coffe Maker, Toaster, crock pot, waffle maker and blender. An adjoining dining area has a table and chairs to seat 6. Washer/Dryer, Iron and board are in Pantry room off of kitchen. Stay cool or warm with Central air/heat throughout the cottage. Ceiling fans are in every room, including the front porch and Lounge/garage area.
Holden Beach, NC Getaway --A quaint island paradise, is a beach lover's dream! The town of Holden Beach is nationally recognized as one of the premier "Family Beaches" in the United States. Beach access is just 5 minutes away! Just 5 minutes away, try fishing at the free public Fishing Pier on the Island/ICW and take a chance at catching Spots, Trout, Whiting, Flounder, Drum and many other ocean fish; or 10 minutes away at the Holden Beach Fishing Pier & Diner on Ocean Blvd. Local Charter Fishing is available, as well.
Holden Beach is a great place to relax, enjoy the beach and have dinner on the Island or Waterway restaurants at Castaway's Seafood, Mermaid's Grill, Captain Pete's or Provisions Co. There are many other inland restaurants to choose from; including, Grillin' Crab, The Seafood Barn, Jersey Girls' Deli, Main Street Grill, Surfer's Cafe and more. Check out the Holden Beach area Antique, Consignment and Gift Shops; Wings, Water-Slide (seasonal), Putt-Putt Golf and Game-Hall, all on the Causeway. There are numerous golf courses, attractions and seafood restaurants located at the nearby Islands of Oak Island (Southport area), Ocean Isle Beach; and Sunset Beach near Calabash -- which is named "The Seafood Capitol of the World."
Local Attractions -- Take in a movie at the Coastal Cinema 10 Theatre in nearby Shallotte (approx. 15 min from Holden Beach). Planet Fun is a great place to take the kids while dining at the Starz Grille. Check out their website for more info at There is also a Walmart, CVS, Belk's, Bath/ Body-Works and other numerous shops in the Shallotte area.
Other Nearby Attractions -- Just 30 minutes away, you'll find the historic town of Southport where you can stroll the shady, oak lined streets and shop for unique gifts and antiques a or fish in the Cape Fear River from the Southport City Pier. Take a day trip on the Ferry from Southport to Bald Head Island where you can rent a golf cart (no cars allowed on the island) and tour the island. Or, take the Ferry to Fort Fisher and visit the Civil War Museum or the Fort Fisher Aquarium. Pack a picnic lunch, feed the birds, and search for starfish among the mossy rocks.
With famous Myrtle Beach, SC approx. 50 mi. away, take in one of the many live shows at the House of Blues, Legends, Alabama Theater, Carolina Opry, Medieval Times and more. "Broadway at the Beach" has many nightclubs, shops, restaurants and tourist attractions, including the famous Ripley's Aquarium, IMAX & Waterparks. Find some terrific bargains at the Tanger Outlet Mall, Ross's and Carolina Mall/Bass Pro Shop, in closer North Myrtle Beach. Or, stop by the Ocean Hwy 17 "Flea Market" at Little River (near SC/NC boarder). While visiting the Little River area, dine on the waterway at "Crab Catcher's." Be sure to order the fresh catch of the day!
Historic Wilmington, NC is approx. 30 miles away, where you can tour the city on foot or by horse and carriage! Visit the USS North Carolina battleship. Lots of neat shops and restaurants are near and/or on the Riverfront Walkway.
Spend your vacation at our cottage during the cooler months and enjoy many local activities, like fishing, shell seeking, strolling along the beach, bowling, golfing and many more Fall/Winter festivities. Visit the Planetarium, Museum Of Coastal Carolina. Or, take a tour at the Silver Coast Winery.
