Nestled in a forest of aspen & pine trees, we're in another world from the 25 casinos of Central City/Black Hawk (3 mi away) & I-70 (5 mi). Very private location on a dead-end road, we're the only house within sight!
*** VEHICLE REQUIREMENTS
NOV-APR: It is STRONGLY ENCOURAGED you have an AWD or 4WD vehicle with good traction tires. * MAY-OCT: Most 2WD vehicles are OK. Nothing ultra low-clearance (sports cars).
- We cannot be responsible for inclement weather and cannot offer refunds due to inadequate vehicle or tires.
The private apartment is a locked-off / non-shared space, with a separate entrance & parking area from the main house.
Separate & ample parking next to your private entrance. Entire 1st floor of house (excluding garage) is yours.
No immediate human neighbors and no houses within sight of property. This is the only house on a dead-end county road.
You'll find trails in almost every direction including an easy/short hike to the most amazing views of the Continental Divide & Mt. Evans.
Steps away from hiking trails, snowshoeing, mountain biking, etc.; 3 mile drive to casinos; 5 mile drive to shops, restaurants, bars, hot springs, rafting, zip-lining, I-70 & more.
While being only 5 miles from I-70, the house sits on top of a mountain at 9,500ft. Winter weather here can be extremely unpredictable. It is often very different at the house than in town just 3 miles away. This is part of why staying here is so exciting!
I live on top floor of house and will be available whenever needed.
I'm a Colorado native and can help you with recommendations, directions or anything else that may help make your stay be as pleasurable as possible.
While interaction will be limited at times, I am always available by text/phone.
You will be vocally greeted by two bloodhounds upon arrival. They will never be in your area. Other than the initial greeting, they are generally lazy, quiet dogs that remain in the upper house the majority of the time. They never run loose when guests are on the property. They are super-friendly giant guys who just want to sniff everything in sight.
While I do provide some basic necessities (shampoo, coffee, tea, a few snacks), guests are responsible for their own provisions. There is a grocery store (Safeway) five miles away, as well as many restaurants (pizza, BBQ, Mexican, Cajun, fast food etc.) Coffee shops too including Starbucks (Idaho Springs) & Dunkin Donuts (Black Hawk inside a casino).+ More
