Our fully updated, charming A-frame cabin is a perfect place to unplug, relax, and unwind. Between the deer who stop by for berry-bush breakfast, and birdsongs in the various deciduous trees to kayaking up the mountain rivers and fishing just feet from the back deck, this cozy spot is a place where you can truly get away.
Tucked away, but not remote, it is 90 miles from both Seattle and Portland in Mossyrock, Washington - a small lake town in a historic lumber region of the state.
Built in 1950 and recently remodeled, you can relax in the rustic space with the amenities of a 5-star hotel. The cabin offers a full kitchen, two bathrooms, two bedrooms, a laundry space and a living area with a huge fireplace to help you get cozy. With a Bose surround sound system and a huge projection screen for over 300 DVDs, and shelves upon shelves of books, the cabin also provides an indoor retreat. Open the huge sliding doors and you have access to over 1,000 sq ft of deck space for outdoor cookouts, lawn chair sun-bathing and reading, or hot tub dipping under the stars of a clear night sky.
We also have an additional bunkhouse that has a full bedroom and bathroom just steps away from the main house. This can be rented for an additional fee or if more than 4 people are staying at the cabin. Please inquire for additional details.
A short distance from both Mt. St. Helens and Mt. Rainier, the area boasts various walks, hikes and activities for the outdoorsy. For activities closer to ‘home’, we are happy to provide two kayaks and paddles should you chose to walk the 100 yards to the lake entrance and explore the area on the water. We also encourage you to head into town to grab a burger, pick some famous local blueberries, or check out the well-known tulip farm.
All amenities are for the use of our guests. The kitchen is equipped with dishes, silverware, cooking utensils, coffee maker, coffee and sugar and other kitchen essentials. There is a large, new washer/dryer combo unit in the utility area as well as detergent and fabric softener. We also stock the bathroom with shower essentials and toiletries should need anything. Along with regular shower towels we also provide additional towels in case you want to take a dip in the hot tub (which you should!) For entertainment we are happy to provide oodles of books, CDs, and movies along with board games, cards, and puzzles as alternative fun.
Guests will have the cabin as if it were their own. We will provide you an entry code to the door and once you’re there you’re in your own retreat. We are happy to provide as much contact and suggestions as desired, but understand that you’re coming here to disconnect, so are happy to leave you be. We will be on call for any questions, or if any special need arises.
The roads to the cabin are all paved and plowed (in case you come for some snow-covered cabin action). We have ample space in the driveway for vehicles, trailers and boats.
As you may notice in the photos, there are two structures to the cabin - the main cabin (with 2 bedrooms, kitchen, living, laundry and a bathroom) as well as a bunk-house (an extra bedroom and bathroom). Please note that we rent the property out as one rental, so you will not be ‘sharing’ the property with any additional guests when you come.
We have a few house rules that we ask you agree to before renting.
do not use our neighbor's personal dock. If you're planning to kayak, please enter the water at the end of the road
no smoking in the house
please make sure you clean up after yourself
don't leave with a live fire still burning (be it in the fire pit or the fireplace)
- don't wear shoes inside
Come and enjoy the cabin as your own. We provide a guidebook for the cabin that you will see on the counter when you arrive. Check it over to get the basics of the cabin. Get away from it all, pen that book, write that song, be inspired by the beauty of the landscape out of the A-frame windows. Or just relax, breathe the air, and enjoy being here.+ More
