A 2-bedroom condo that sleeps 6, Siesta Dunes 8-205 is just a 5-minute stroll from the beach. But fun in the sun is even closer than that. The Siesta Dunes condo complex has its own round saltwater pool, heated to the perfect temperature so that you can enjoy a swim outdoors year-round. There’s a tennis court as well, and after your game you can soothe your muscles in the outdoor hot tub. Or if you prefer, laze on a beachfront chaise—Siesta Dunes has the largest beach deck on Siesta Key—and watch seabirds dive into the Gulf of Mexico as palm trees sway in the breeze. Need to cool off in the shade? You’ll find seating beneath the complex’s gazebo.
Unit 8-205’s enclosed balcony is another sunny spot for relaxation. The balcony, like the rest of the 2nd-story condo, is air-conditioned, so you can comfortably sprawl out on its cushioned rattan settee or curl up in its armchair even in the midsummer heat. Bring your morning coffee out here, admire the lushly landscaped Siesta Dunes grounds, and start your day in perfect Florida fashion.
The balcony connects to unit 8-205’s airy living/dining area. With 2 sofas and a recliner, it has ample seating for the whole gang. Whether you’re watching a movie on the 50” smart HDTV with cable and a Blu-ray player, surfing the web via the free WiFi, or playing Uno with the kids, you’ll feel at ease in this beautifully furnishing living area.
The equally lovely dining table seats 6, in chairs so comfortable you’ll want to linger long after the meal is over. There’s also a breakfast bar that seats 2, and a table for 2 in the kitchen. The recently updated kitchen has all the appliances, cookware, tableware, and counter space you could possibly need, no matter how elaborate your meal.
Another option is to dine alfresco. The Siesta Dunes complex has gas grills and picnic tables on its beachside deck. If you reel in some trout or flounder, you can cook it out here and then enjoy it amid the salt-tinged sea air. Of course, there are restaurants nearby as well; some are even within walking distance, so you can have a few drinks without worrying about driving afterward.
Back in unit 8-205, you’ll find 2 bedrooms and 2 full bathrooms. Having a bathroom for each bedroom will make mornings hassle-free—no need to line up for your turn to take a shower. The master bedroom includes a sumptuous California king-size bed, while the 2nd bedroom has a queen, making the condo as well suited for 2 couples as it is for a family. If you have additional guests, one of the living area sofas opens into a queen-size bed.
Other amenities include a washer and dryer right in the condo unit, so you can pack light. There are also 2 coolers that you can take to the beach. What’s more, Siesta Dunes has private access to the sparkling white-quartz beach, deemed the country’s best by TripAdvisor’s Travelers’ Choice awards. Other people have to drive and hunt for a parking space before they can feel the sand beneath their feet—but not you!
Once you’re at the beach you can parasail, paddleboard, canoe, kayak, race jet skis, search for shells, or simply watch dolphins frolic in the surf. At least once during your stay be sure to watch the sunset over the gulf; it’s a sight you’ll long remember.
For a change of pace. drive over the bridge that connects Siesta Key to the mainland and explore Sarasota. The Ringling art and circus museums are must-visits, as is Ca’ d’Zan, the extravagant one-time winter home of John and Mabel Ringling, and they’re all less than a half-hour away.
Or perhaps you’d rather just lounge by the pool and laze on your screened-in lanai. It’s your vacation; enjoy it however you want! First, though, you need to book your stay at Siesta Dunes 8-205—before someone else beats you to it!+ More
