One of the most asked for features is a westerly outlook for spectacular sunsets, and you cannot get better than this Lake Simcoe cottage. At just an hour and twenty minutes from the city it's a great location at any time of the year - for all the water activities in summer to ice fishing breaks in winter.
Skimmers was named by the owner when, as a child, she loved to skim stones across the stillness of the lake on a misty morning. Those memories of long days on the waterfront, playing in the shallows, kayaking and swimming, are reflected in the cottage today and we know that every family that stays here will go away with their own special memories of their vacation.
You'll love the large expanse of lawn with perennial gardens, and plenty of outdoor seating from the patio and BBQ area to the hammock and swing, and down a few steps to the waterside dock. There is no shortage of spots to enjoy a glass of wine and a good read, with a stunning view across the lake.
Inside this comfortable cottage you'll find a good-sized and well-equipped kitchen with a dining table. Across the waterside there's a living room, and family room so the kids can chill out in one space, while mom and dad get to relax in the other. The perfect set-up!
From the central living space, hallways lead to three bedrooms and a bathroom on one side, and the laundry room and a second bathroom on the other. With an inflatable queen bed available if needed in the family room, there's plenty of space for two families to share this great vacation home.
The waterfront has a concrete dock on which are patio tables and lounging chairs. The water is shallow at the shoreline to the right of the dock with a pebble base all the way out. We highly recommend water shoes. A paddleboard and a kayak are included, and there's additional water toys/noodles etc in the boat house.
The cottage is a 10 minute drive from Beaverton where there's plenty of eateries and grocery stores.+ More
