Welcome to Sommerhaus, a contemporary A-frame cottage overlooking the waters of Picton Bay. This summer retreat is perched on a bank making the best of the view so you'll want to spend every meal dining al fresco on the bay view deck. The large sun filled yard is surrounded by trees and the sounds of nature making it an ideal location to relax and enjoy your vacation.
The A-frame portion of the cottage houses an open concept living-dining room with a huge window facing the bay plus a fully equipped kitchen with new tile flooring. The west wing features two bedrooms and a 4 piece bathroom and the east wing has a master bedroom and second 4 piece bathroom. A fourth bedroom can be found in the loft area of the A-frame. All rooms of the house feature new flooring including maple hardwood and ceramic/slate floors.
Sommerhaus is located in Prince Edward County on the south shore of Picton Bay near Glenora Ferry. Picton Bay is part of the Bay of Quinte which is a popular spot for walleye and bass fishing. This is a great location for boating and fishing, and the local roads are ideal for cycling too. And it's only 20 minutes to Sandbanks Provincial Park - world’s largest baymouth barrier dune formation. For your convenience, a beach pass is included with your rental.
Nearby is the natural wonder of Lake-on-the-Mountain, Glenora Ferry, Diamond J Ranch, Macauley Museum, and several award winning wineries. It's less than 10 minutes to Picton where you'll find groceries and all the basic supplies you'll need for your vacation as well as restaurants, pubs, cafes, a theatre, art galleries, library, banks, and shopping.
While you're here in Prince Edward County, be sure to check out the many attractions of the area including the wineries and vineyards, and the famous Sandbanks Beach. If you're looking for more adventure, you can picnic at one of the many local beaches; relax at a spa; shop and browse in the boutiques, artisan and antique shops; dine out at a fine restaurant or pub; play a round of golf; tour the County on bicycle; take a hike at the Dunes; try your luck at fishing; or check out the local farm markets. Open concept dining area adjacent to the kitchen - table expands and will seat up to 8 people.Please note that laundry facilities are not available however there are three laundromats in nearby Picton.

Rocky bottom with some weeds - becomes weedier as the water gets warmer so you may not find it suitable for swimming.

Please note that there are about 4 flights of stairs to access the shoreline and dock area plus a log walkway from the stairs to the dock area - not recommended for very young children or anyone with accessibility issues.

Boat launch, boat & motor rentals and bait are available 1 km away.
Please bring your own boats, beach towels, swim shoes, and life jackets. Boats are not provided.
