Situated on Lake Kawagama in Dorset ON, this is a smaller shabby chic seasonal cottage on an Island (Long Island, Lake Kawagama) A 16 foot tin boat + motor comes with the rental (you must have your Ontario Boaters License).
Boat is located at marina 4 nautical miles from cottage, you should only be boating in fair weather. Max boat occupancy is 5 adults.
In is a total of 1100 sq feet (not including porches and bunky). It has 3 bedrooms in the main cottage (a master with queen bed, and 2 bedrooms each with a double bed + single bunk) and a separate bunky with a double bed and single bunk. There is also a double bed pull out in the living room.
There is a small kitchen with sink, stove, fridge, dishwasher, toaster, coffee maker, pots, pans, cutlery and dishes. There is a small dining room and a separate living room. There is also a screened in porch and an outhouse.
There are 2 bathrooms, one is only a powder room and the second one has a stand-up shower with hot water on a propane on-demand heater. There is a small washer and a clothing line.
There is a fire pit.
Comes with 16 foot 20hp tin boat (must have license), a canoe and a paddle boat.
The doc is 12' wide x 55' long.
There is no phone and not internet. There are two TVs. There are neighbours which can be seen from the dock but not from the cottage porch.
The cottage is on a septic tank with a septic pump, which means only a small amount of toilet paper (3 sheets x 2) and human waste can go into the system. Tenants are responsible for damages to the septic system.
This cottage was redone in its entirety in 2007 and has been used religiously since, which means it does show wear. Bring your own sheets, towels, life jackets, food and condiments.
NB. There is no cleaning service between rentals, so it is the responsibility of each tenant to clean the place and leave it in good condition for the next tenants.
Renters must be families, no groups of young adults.
Toilets are on a septic do not put anything other than human waste and 3 squares of toilet paper in to the toilets. Absolutely no condom, no wipes, no tampons, no elastics, no pads, no diapers..... The same goes for the outhouse.

- Clean cottage thoroughly, as per the rental listing there are no cleaners between tenants as this cottage is on an island. Should the cottage not be cleaned and we need to send in cleaners this will be taken from the damage deposit. It is not cheap to have cleaner come to an island.
Remove all garbage, recycling and empties. Should these be left we will send someone to get it and their cost will come out of the damage deposit. The dump is on your way out just before the Timbrmart on your right.
Close all windows & turn off lights
Return key to lockbox. Should this not be done we will send someone to open cottage for next tenant + make a new key and return it to cottage, their cost will come out of the damage deposit
Fill up Tin Boat Gas Cans. The nearest marina is Old Mill on Lake Kawagama
- Return Tin Boat & Lock it at Government Dock
Signs Something is Wrong
There is a constant humming of a pump coming from the other side of the kitchen wall near dishwasher. Go to pump house and flip off pump switch to the right of the pressure tank. Email landloard.
- There is a sewage smell at the front of the cottage. Do not use toilets and email landloard.
