Sunset Shores is the perfect name for this west facing 1200 square foot cottage located in Red Bay on the shores of Lake Huron. This 3 bedroom cottage is an ideal location for watching beautiful sunsets inside and out.
The approach to the cottage and the grounds are neatly groomed with colourful flower beds. There is a covered patio at the entranceway where you can lounge in the shade, view the lake and be protected from the weather.
The interior of the cottage has log ( cabin like ) construction with stone accents. The living area is spacious. To the left of the entrance is a sitting area with ceramic tile flooring where you can watch your favourite movie on the 40" Smart TV with satellite. The main living space has hardwood floors, a beautiful stone fireplace and wood stove with lots of comfortable seating for reading a good book or just enjoying the wonderful view of Lake Huron.
The kitchen/dining area which is elevated by 2 steps above the living area has ceramic tile flooring as well. White appliances are provided with built in microwave. There is plenty of cupboard space and counter space for storing and preparing family dinners. Access to the stone patio where you can enjoy outdoor dining and barbecueing is convenient for serving meals, two picnic tables are also provided on the property.
Each of the 3 bedrooms have baseboard heating for cooler nights. The master bedroom has a queen bed and is newly renovated (2016). Bedroom 2 has a set of bunks with a single on the top and a double on the bottom. Bedroom 3 is furnished with a set of single bunkbeds.
There is a brand new 3 piece bathroom with shower. The outdoor living space on the water side of the cottage is beautifully landscaped and provides lots of options for enjoying the outdoors. Sit on or swim off of the dock and enjoy full sun and breezes from the water. The dock is equipped with a swim ladder for easy access to the lake or gradual entry off of the shore. You can also relax by the lake with the chairs, table and umbrella that is provided. Read a good book in the hammock or take a tour of the shoreline in the two kayaks provided. The cement patio up close to the house is a perfect location for morning coffee or afternoon cocktails.
The starlit sky with the moon over the water is a magical sight with dozens of solar lights on the yard and dock.
Red Bay is a central location to enjoy what the Bruce Peninsula has to offer. Tobermory and Bruce Peninsula National Park are less that an hour away. Sauble Beach which is one of North America's longest freshwater beaches is just a 15 minute drive and if you enjoy hiking, the Bruce Trail has several access points within the area.
