With a garden, deck, and stunning views you might just want to experience San Francisco from the lounge chair on our deck! Located in a quiet, safe neighborhood you are still close enough to the action on 24th Street should you wish to indulge in good restaurants, organic groceries, boutiques and a Saturday farmer's market.
Parking is free and easy, a city bus stops at the corner, and if you like to walk, just 5 minutes uphill in Diamond Heights you'll find basic amenities including a Safeway grocery, Walgreen’s pharmacy, a bank, a post office, Starbucks inside Safeway, a Chinese and Japanese restaurant, and a serene city park for soaking up some nature in the city.
Back at home, you're welcome to cook in our fully equipped kitchen, eat in our dining room while feasting your eyes on the Bay Bridge and beyond, hang out in either our comfortable living room with lots of windows or on the wrap-around deck where the view is unencumbered (unless, of course the fog happens to roll in).
Although your hosts will be away, we will be happy to help you navigate your way around the inside or outside the house either ahead of time, or by phone or email while we're away.
You'll have access to the entire first floor of our house including the kitchen, bedroom, dining room, living room and deck.
We live in a great part of San Francisco. The views are lovely, the air is fresh, the people are friendly, and parking is free and readily available in our part of Noe Valley (as opposed to many other parts of our neighborhood and the city).
We're close to great dining and neighborhood shopping. 24th Street in "downtown" Noe Valley is one of the most delightful neighborhoods in San Francisco. It's like being in a small town in the midst of a big city.
We're also convenient to the "Big City" and to all parts of the Bay Area. We are close to public transportation and to highways that can easily get you to nearby cities and attractions if you have a car. (See "Getting Around" for more details.)
We are in a great location for walking, driving, and taking public transportation.
Many of our guests enjoy walking to nearby stores and restaurants. We are in the Noe Valley neighborhood which is well known for its cafes, restaurants, and shops. You can either take a 10 minute walk or a quick bus ride to 24th Street to enjoy the neighborhood.
Some of our more ambitious guests walk to nearby neighborhoods including the Castro, the Mission, and Glen Park.
We are on a steep hill, so be on the way back! Remember, you can always hop on the bus!
Our house is close to several bus lines: the 35, 24, and 52 lines are all a short walk from our house. The 35 is particularly close, a leisurely one minute and ten second walk from our house to the bus stop. (Yes, we timed it!)
The 35 will take you to "downtown" Noe Valley and the Castro within minutes. It will connect you with other lines that will easily take you to any part of San Francisco.
The 24 and 52 are both within 5 minutes of our house and will take you to many other neighborhoods as well as to other lines that will connect you to the entire city and to BART. We're happy to assist you with bus schedules and answer your questions as best we can.
We're in a terrific location for those of you who are driving.
Parking near our house is very easy and free (unlike many parts of San Francisco).
We are convenient to other San Francisco neighborhoods as well as to highways that will get you to anywhere in the Bay Area including Silicon Valley, Santa Cruz, Monterey, Marin County, Point Reyes National Seashore, Sonoma County and Napa Valley wineries, and more.
Taxi: Our convenient location means that taxi rides are easy to arrange and very affordable. Choose from traditional taxis to services like Uber and Lyft to get around town!
Other Things to Note
We need you to feed our cat and scoop the poop out the litter box as needed. You can flush it down the toilet. (We change the litter once a week, and will have it new and fresh when we leave.) Emily's a sweet, 18 yr. old indoor/outdoor cat who spends most of her time sleeping, is very low maintenance, and likes people.+ More
