My house is on a quiet, tree-lined street with nearby beach access, located approximately 3 miles from Portland's Old Port. I will only rent to people who I've spoken to first on the phone.
The house is large, fully furnished, and able to comfortably accommodate 6-7 people. Upstairs is a large master bedroom with a walk-in closet, a second large bedroom with a smaller closet, and a smaller bedroom with a walk-in closet, a twin bed and a six-foot built-in bed that's perfect for children. The upstairs bathroom has a clawfoot tub and a shower stall, and there is another bathroom (no shower or tub) on the first floor. The kitchen is fully stocked with a gas range and oven, dishwasher, microwave oven, coffee maker, and plenty of utensils, pots pans and everything you need to cook for a large group. stock loads of good books. The house has high-speed WiFi and a 32-inch TV with cable access. All the interior floors are hardwood. The dining room has a six-foot farmers table that seats 8 people comfortably, and there's also a dining area in the kitchen itself. The basement has a washer and drier.
The yard is private, beautifully landscaped, with a patio, deck furniture and gas grill. I have cedar fencing around most of the property. The nice thing about this house is the light..sunlight floods the whole space. There's also a deck out front, where you can watch the world go by.
Willard beach is 2 blocks away. Scratch bakery, which serves bagels, coffee, wine, sandwiches and other supplies is also a few blocks up the road and located next to Local Scoops, which serves homemade ice cream. One of Portland's best restaurants, called David's, is less than a quarter mile away. Other nearby restaurants include Elsemere's barbeque and Enios, which serves Mediterranean food.
The Willard square neighborhood is a great place to spend your vacation in Southern Maine. Downtown Portland, with its incredible restaurants, theaters, world-class museum, ferries to the islands and waterfront shops is a 5 minute drive away (also accessible on a bike path). From the privacy of my house, it's also a world away. A 15 minute drive South brings you to the much larger sandy beaches in Cape Elizabeth and Scarborough, which stretch for miles along the coast.+ More
