Right in the heart of the historic village of Judique. Founded in 1775 this is one of the oldest villages in the area and is on the famous Ceilidh Trail, which starts at the Canso Causeway, and travels through half a dozen villages until it turns into the world famous Cabot Trail at Margaree. Judique is famous for brave soldiers, world-class fiddlers, and hockey players.
Our house is in a nice quiet street only a few minutes walk to the Celtic Interpretive Centre, the historic St Andrews Church, the local Community Centre, a convenience store and an automotive garage. Baxters Cove lobster boat wharf (with a small swimming beach) is just 2 miles south.
Further north are the stunning beaches of Port Hood, with their mountains of red sand, and some of the warmest and cleanest ocean water you have ever seen. A bit north of Port Hood is the old coal mining town of Inverness that has been re-born with the construction of one of only two Links golf courses in North America. Visitors to this golf course includes the likes of the Bush's, Kennedy's, and Buffet's.
