Property Description

Morrison Lake is a warm clean lake located in the Muskoka region and is only an hour and forty five minutes north of Toronto. The lake is located above the Severn waterway and below Lake Muskoka, the closest town is Gravenhurst. The cottage, called Time Away, is on a private lot on Morrison Lake, with 110 feet of lakefront. This is a perfect place for a relaxing summer vacation. You can drive right up to the cottage, great for unpacking and packing the car. The property is level from the road to the cottage then has a gradual slope to the lake.

This classic, cedar built, Muskoka summer cottage has three bedrooms and is about 850 square feet with the porch. Two bedrooms have queen beds, and the third has three single beds (a bunk bed and a single bed). All the beds are new and give a great nights rest. The rooms have portable electric heaters and there is an airtight wood stove, if the nights become cool. Lots of split seasoned wood is available. The inside of the cottage is all tongue and groove cedar wood which gives it a warm welcoming atmosphere. The cedar ceilings are vaulted and have beams. The floors are made of pine strip wood. The porch (Muskoka room) is screened in, has four chairs facing the lake, and a spare beer/pop fridge. Cell phone reception is excellent with 5 bars. The dining room table has four chairs; when the leaf folds out, up to eight can sit at the table. There is a Weber Genesis propane BBQ and spare propane tanks on the deck. Outside there are two picnic tables, choose sun or shade. The washroom is three piece; toilet, sink, and stand up shower. The property has a new septic system and gravel driveway.

Morrison Lake Is A Warm Clean Lake The cottage will be clean when you arrive and we ask that it is left clean at the end of your stay for the next guests. If you wish we can arrange for a cleaning person to come at the end of your stay. The cottage is a fully furnished place with most things you will need already there. We provide the pillows and bed spreads but ask that you bring up your own sheets, beach and washroom towels.

We have guests arrive on Sunday any time after one O'clock and stay until Saturday afternoon, with three Oâ??clock being the latest check out. We always want to avoid any overlap with one family leaving and another arriving. We usually stop by the property on Saturday evening or Sunday morning, to do maintenance on the cottage and also look after the property. It is $1500 a week for the cottage in high season July and August; $1000 for a week low season in June or September. The rental cheque is typically sent two weeks before your holiday, then cashed when received. Please date the cheque when it is sent. The lock box code, for the cottage key will be sent after receiving the rental cheque. We have directions to the cottage, with the address, which we can send as an attachment.

We also ask for a security deposit of $1000, post dated to the first day of your holiday. This cheque would be for damages, unexpected additional cleaning prior to the next guests arriving, or extra people at the cottage that were not agreed to. After your stay, if there were no problems, the cheque will be returned to your home address. This security cheque can be sent at booking and confirms your holiday. Location Description

Gravenhurst is a twenty minute drive away. Gravenhurst has shopping, groceries, a LCBO, a Beer Store, and coin laundry. The Muskoka Wharf is Gravenhurstâ??s biggest attraction; www.muskokawharf.ca . A boat cruise aboard the Segwun or Wenonah is a great way to see Lake Muskoka, the lunch or dinner is worth it. The wharf also has a boat museum, ice cream, Boston Pizza with a licensed patio overlooking Muskoka Bay (Wednesday evening is the waterski show), and a children's splash pad/playground, across the road. On Wednesday mornings there is a busy farmers market located near the wharf, arrive early to get the butter tarts. Bala is a nice village to visit, with its rapids, water-ski show (Tuesday evening), and ice cream. Bala has a Beer Store, LCBO, lunch spots, and groceries. The Coldwater Road exit, off Highway 11, in Orillia has a large Zehrs grocery store (east of the highway) and frozen food from there will still be frozen by the time you make it to the cottage. In the cottage area are golf courses (from inexpensive fun par 3 Evergreen Golf Centre and 27 hole Lake St. George Golf Club to world-class spectacular Muskoka Bay Club or Taboo), Casino Rama, fine dinning, and hiking trails. The property faces West, with sunny mornings and sun on the dock until about three O'clock. The lake is usually calm not choppy in front of the cottage while on the other side of the lake there can be whitecaps, with a normal westerly wind. There is wildlife in the area, over the years we have come across every type of animal and bird native to Central Ontario. Chipmunks run around outdoors and are tame enough to eat peanuts from your hand.

Stayed for six day in Sept 2015 ....6th -12th. Best part: the dock....very nice to sit out there in morning to early afternoon. Sun goes behind the trees after that.
