The Tin PeliCan our 19-ft, retro-look trailer has all the charm of the 50s tin can trailers and has all the modern amenities of today. Centrally located, we're a short walk to the Sponge Docks, Pinellas Trail, downtown Tarpon and Spring Bayou.
Whether you are escaping the winter's cold, spending a long weekend at the beach or trying to decide whether or not you would like a trailer of your own, The Tin PeliCan is a pretty awesome place to visit.
The quaintness of a retro travel trailer with the amenities of modern day. Tin PeliCan is cute and comfortable. There's a lot packed into this 19 ft. trailer. Because it is parked, it is hooked to electric, sewer and water.
The kitchen has a 3-burner gas (propane) cooktop, refrigerator/freezer, pots and pans, microwave, Keurig coffee maker, crock pot, 50s diner-style dishes and mugs and flatware.
The dinette has comfortable seating and is surrounded by windows. AC and heat, wireless Internet and 2 sets of USB charging ports are included.
There is a blue tooth stereo, radio and DVD player. There is a SMART TV in both the bedroom and kitchen/dining areas.
There is a larger than usual (trailer) shower, along with a separate water closet. The towels are soft and luxurious.
The queen-sized bed has a foam topper that adds to its comfort. The sheets and bedding are of the highest quality rivaling your most favorite hotel. The bedroom has 2 hanging closets on either side of the bed and 2 cabinets above the bed for additional clothing storage.
Outside we provide a gas grill, 2 vintage-style chairs, a small table, and a glider There's soft lighting should you want to sit outside in the evening. We also provide fold up beach chairs and beach towels should you want to spent your day seaside.
While there is no laundry facility, there is a laundromat a few blocks away.
Tin PeliCan is a 19 ft. brand new trailer parked in front of our garage on its own patch of grass. It is part of a residential property in a residential neighborhood. You share the driveway parking with us and our Pelican Cottage guests. Our back yard is on the other side of the fence. It is private and quiet and most times you will not even see us. However, it is our home and occasionally, you may find us working in the yard or mowing grass or fixing the brakes on the car. We are not a commercial conglomerate. We offer Tin PeliCan and Pelican Cottage as comfortable, homey alternatives to the sterile and limited facilities of hotel or motel rooms.
Guests will have full use of the trailer and its surrounding yard. They will be provided one, off-street parking space. Guests visiting may park in the street.
Pelican Cottage, our second vacation rental is located on the back corner of our property and may have guests staying at the same time. Guests of The Tin PeliCan may run into Pelican Cottage guests as they head down the brick walk to their front door.
Because Jerry and Kerrie live on the property, they are available 24/7. They will meet you upon your arrival and take you on the grand tour answering any questions you might have. They encourage communication.
Jerry and Kerrie are proud owners of Brinkley, a 1-year old rambunctious, yellow lab and Lily, a 7-year old basset hound. While they may come out to say hello when you first arrive, or you may see them playing in the back yard, they stay on their side of the fence and most of the time, stay in the house at Jerry and Kerrie's sides.
You are provided a book full of information, contact numbers, wireless password, etc. There are maps to all of the local resources and instructions on how to work the various appliances and remotes.
High Street is an extremely peaceful and quiet neighborhood one block from North Spring and the Spring Bayou. It is a beautiful area.
Tarpon Springs is located on the Gulf of Mexico in the middle of Florida. We are a 45(ish) minute drive to Tampa, and hour to St. Pete and the Dali Museum. It takes about 2 hours to get to Orlando and the theme parks. It takes about 45 minutes to get to the Lowrey Park Zoo and Busch Gardens.
It is strongly recommended to have a car to get around.
There is a bus service available. Taxis and Uber is also available.
It takes approximately 40 minutes (or more) to drive to and from Tampa International (TPA) and/or Clearwater/St. Pete Airport (PIE.)
The Jolly Trolley runs between Tarpon Springs and Clearwater, and is a fun way to explore the area.
The Tin PeliCan does provide 2, single speed bicycles (one boy/one girl) for your use and enjoyment.
The Tin PeliCan is a 19 foot travel trailer/camper. It is brand new. it is fun, funky, and quirky. But, do keep in mind, it is a trailer and is small.
The Tin PeliCan is smack dab in the middle of Tarpon Springs. You are a 6 minute walk to the Sponge Docks. A 6-minute walk to downtown Tarpon Springs and all their antique shops and restaurants and the Pinellas Trail. It is one block to Spring Bayou. It's a 5-minute drive to Howard Park and Sunset Beach.+ More
