The Homestead is a 1,200 sq ft vacation home that sleeps up to 12 people. It has a large living room with a wood burning fireplace, full eat in kitchen, 1 1/2 baths, a huge outdoor deck off the back of the house with a pond view. Outside the front living room window you will have a spectacular view of Blue Mountain which is located in the "heart of the Adirondack State Park". The large backyard near the pond is very secluded and has an outdoor fire pit for evening bonfires and family get togethers.
This accommodation has a fully equipped kitchen, pots, pans, glassware, flatware, dinner ware, microwave, refrigerator, stove, oven, coffee maker, toaster oven and a variety of miscellaneous items to prepare any desired meal. It also has a flat screen TV with with HDMI ports, Direct TV & WiFi.
Sleeps 12 people. The master bedroom sleeps 6, with one king bed, a bunk bed and a trundle bed. The spare bedroom has a full bed, in the living room there is a futon and in the foyer area (which acts like a 3rd bedroom that has 2 folding screen doors) there is another futon.
Because of location you will have access to year round outdoor activities:
In spring, summer, fall- hiking, swimming, kayaking, canoeing, fishing, water skiing, renting a pontoon boat or motorized fishing craft or speed boat right on Blue Mt Lake, which is less than an 1 minute drive or about a 10 minute walk to the public beach which is life guarded in the prime season. Hunting.
Nearby (10-25 minutes)- mountain biking, horseback riding, whitewater rafting, seaplane rides rides, golfing, you can go on a dinner cruise.
In winter- 3 local ski areas for downhill skiing and snowboarding, ice fishing on a choice of dozens of lakes, dog sledding, rabbit hunting and snow shoeing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling are available right from your room if you have the equipment. The New York Trail system cuts right though our property. Rentals for these activities are nearby.
Blue Mountain Lake is the dead center of the Adirondack Mountains. A six million acre "forever wild" sanctuary protected the APA (The Adirondack Park Association). Whether you are looking for that "off the beaten path" experience, hiking on pristine wilderness, finding one of the hundreds of lakes tucked away from nowhere, a romantic waterfall, looking for adventure kayaking on secluded pond or stream, mountain biking on some of the best trails in the state (town of Inlet), riding the rapids on a whitewater raft at the origins on the Hudson, flying off a lake on a seaplane to get a birds eye view or just chilling out on a sandy beach sunbathing this amazing area has dozens of outdoor opportunities. A true haven for the outdoors-man or woman.
For families the Art Center in Blue Mt Lake, Adirondack Museum & the Wild Center offers historic and cultural experiences which are very interactive. The Enchanted Forest Water Safari an outdoor water park, the Adirondack Experience for zip lining & maze like adventures are great day outings. Or picnic at the numerous waterfalls in the area.
Great eateries abound in the main centers of Old Forge, Inlet, Indian Lake, Lake Pleasant, North River, Lake George, Tupper or Saranac Lakes. And especially in Lake Placid the home of the 1980 Olympics. Many are lake side with amazing views.
