The Aphrodite Apartment is unique because it is in the heart of 6th Avenue in Tacoma. You are steps away from the best shopping, restaurants and nightlife in Tacoma.

The apartment is approximately 1200 square feet and has a very nice layout with a beautiful fireplace in a reading nook, formal living and dining room, kitchen and 2 nice sized bedrooms. The bedrooms are located in the middle and the back of the house away from 6th avenue.

The goddess was originally built in 1920. It has been completely renovated top to bottom. This goddess of love is gorgeous on the inside too. She has original dental and flower molding from 1920 as well as original oak and fir floors. This house has been completely remodeled for exclusive use as an airbnb. We love the original woodwork and windows and hardware have been restored. We have completely renovated the kitchen and bath with custom cabinets and beautiful tile. The space is light, bright, elegant, and functional. You will be spoiled with lovely furnishings, nice china, linens and beautiful accessories.

One bedroom has a gel top king size mattress. The other has a queen size gel top mattress. The bathroom has a stand up shower with a bench and custom cabinets. The kitchen has custom cabinets, and eating nook and all new electric appliances.

We have everything you need for cooking and relaxing including pots, pans, spices, glasses, and china for entertaining. We have games to play and interesting books to read. Yes we have internet. The apartment comes with antenna t.v. including netflix and hulu as well as wireless internet. We fenced and put a gate in the front yard during the remodel for added privacy. I am an experienced host so my goal is to make your visit to Tacoma the very best.

Enjoy hanging out on the front porch and people watch 6th Avenue. You are steps away from great shopping, food, music and nightlife. Walk to everywhere. We are located right on a bus line to downtown, Proctor, UPS. Walk to downtown in 15 minutes. This apartment comes with one parking spot located in the back of the house. We also have a side garden to enjoy and have a is a work in progress. Entry is at the back and require 5 steps to get to the apartment.

No smoking, parties or drugs. No high heels on the newly refinished floors. Check in is 4p.m. -11p.m.

Guest access

You have access to the whole 1200 square foot apartment as well as the laundry room in the basement. The main entrance is at the back of the house. I will meet you at the apartment to check you in. I do not live on-site but I am 5 minutes away.

Interaction with guests

Guests can check in 4pm to 11:00 PM. I will physically check you in and orient you when you arrive. I am available by phone or text if you need anything. I live 5 minutes away.

The neighborhood

6th Avenue is fun and funky and is very walkable. You don't even need a car if you stay here you are minutes to downtown, UPS, Proctor, the waterfront, Point Defiance Park and Point Ruston. This neighborhood is part of the North Slope historical District (the largest in the state) Enjoy walking and seeing historic houses and gardens from the past. We are a short 5 minute drive to Proctor, UPS, downtown and the waterfront. 10 minutes to Point Defiance. 15 minutes to Fort Lewis.

Getting around

We are directly on the bus line. Walk across the street and take the bus downtown in 5 minutes. Search Pierce Transit for bus schedules. There is also a train to take you to Seattle from the downtown transit center. Uber and Lyft are always available.

Other things to note

This apartment comes with one parking spot. The main entrance is in the back of the house. This house is a triplex. The top floor is one apartment, the middle is the Aphrodite Apartment and there is a basement that is currently vacant. Both apartments share the back entrance and 2 parking places. Due to the antiques the apartment is not suitable for young children.

Available for long term/corporate rentals between October through April. Please inquire for pricing.

No smoking, no drugs, no parties and no high heels on newly refinished floors, keep the noise down after 9pm.

Thanksgiving 2017

Nice little place to cook a turkey for your son that has moved to Tacoma. Right next door to a great coffee shop. Easy to get around from there and free parking.

Terrific place

Angela was very accommodating; she allowed us to eat some delicious tomatoes from her garden. The 2 bedrooms were nicely out of the way. We enjoyed the wonderful living space to eat, read, and play games from the fully stocked cabinets. We’ll definitely be back!

More than we expected.

What a wonderful stay! Truly everything just as listed on line. I would only caution families with small children, the apartment is furnished with many temptations for small hands. Besides that, this place is a must. We stayed 5 days visiting family, no problems, no surprises, just time with loved ones. Exactly what I really wanted on vacation.

Convenient location and beautiful home!

Convenient location to all the restaurants and night life on 6th avenue! Great outdoor area on the side with chairs and a ping pong table. Inside is freshly updated and beautifully finished. Will definitely stay there again!
