Large and bright walkout 1000 square foot basement suite with brand new queen bed, an air mattress, with internet included and within walking distance to downtown. Private yard space includes firepit, gas BBQ and seating area. Located beside Lois Creek trails for hiking, biking and cross country skiing. Down the street from the corner grocery store and two children's parks.
One bedroom, one bathroom with shower, full kitchen, and your own laundry, make this walkout basement suite unique to Kimberley and a heritage home in general! Originally built for Kimberley's doctor in 1926, this home is being lovingly restored and is a cozy space to stay and visit Kimberley. Our city motto is "A Good Place to Be" and our home reflects that. As it is an older home, please note the ceiling height is only 8' so our taller guests may not be as comfortable!
You have full access to the entire suite, it is private and locked from the upstairs. You also have access to your own private laundry room if needed for stays longer than 3 nights. It is a walkout that has a firepit and gas BBQ right outside your door. These are available in the spring, summer and fall but covered in deep snow in the winter - we are in a ski town after all! There is parking available in the driveway and your own private lane entrance to the yard.
Interaction with guests
We strive to give excellent service while you are visiting this beautiful home and city. Typically the key will be in a hidden location and we will send instructions on the day of your arrival. We will give you full privacy during your stay unless you request otherwise.
Other things to note
There are so many things to do and see in Kimberley! In the summer there are many lakes to explore, three golf courses in the city, hiking and biking trails right outside the door, shopping and dining in the Platzl, which is conveniently located a 7-10 minute walk from the house so you can leave your car behind. In the winter we have fat bike rentals, cross country skiing on the trails or at the Nordic centre, downhill skiing ( you can see the ski hill from our backyard!), ice skating and tobogganing on our many golf courses or the Lois Creek trails down the street from the house are excellent for show shoeing.+ More
