Hello -- before booking my lower floor studio space PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE LISTING for details.
This serene environment is the ideal atmosphere for the artist, writer or spiritual seeker looking to re-inspire his creative drive.
The entire LOWER FLOOR of the house, with its own entrance, is ready for you & includes bed, bath, tech desk, easels & art sink. To reiterate it is the entire lower floor of the house that is available. The house is designed so that the upper and lower have an open, loft-like design. Thanks :-)
This is serene, stone silent, downstairs bedroom and art studio for the meditative, creative traveler. The house is pet-free.
Access to upstairs metaphysical and arts library as well as the long deck that offers a stunning 180-degree view of the harbor. The entire space is surrounded by nature -- sky, water and animal life.
The main kitchen is available for cooking. And you'll also want to visit Vashon's popular eateries, cafes and tea houses for edibles.
My home was recently redesigned to create an open, airy sense of space and light -- reminiscent of loft living in New York; thus the floor plan here is about space rather than cloistered areas or rooms with lots of walls and doors and curtains.
Guests have covered parking and enter through a bridged entry way to the foyer of the home, with the guest bedroom, bathroom, art and writing studio below. This entire floor of the house is entered via an open set of stairs. There is also a private entrance to the lower floor at the back of the house -- whichever you prefer.
The spacious size of the house allows you plenty of space and independence to do your own thing. Once situated, I have minimal interaction with guests but I'm more than happy to answer any questions or offer suggestions related to your island sojourn. As I'm upstairs when home, I'm always available to assist when needed.
If you are seeking:
• Natural setting -- sky, water, animal life. • A spectacular view of Puget Sound

Then this is the ideal space for you.
PLEASE NOTE: Those looking for accommodations that foster lively partying or raucous celebrations will do better with some of the other Airbnb offerings on the island.
MORE DETAILS about the island and getting around:
The house is situated just a walk away from Portage, a beautiful connecting strip where two islands meet alongside the gorgeous Quartermaster Habor.
Take strolls, bring a bike for rides or simply sit on the long deck and survey the Puget Sound and the wildlife and bird varieties as they come and go. Deer and racoon often visit the large backyard area daily.
By car, downtown Vashon is only 8 minutes away, with several wonderful restaurants for you to choose from. A famous favorite: May Thai is an award-winner in Washington State, we're talking the real deal.
Coffee? Some of the best in Puget Sound, and just 5 minutes from the house at the Vashon Coffee Roasters.
Dig Nursery is a magical must-stop wonderland of plants, art and home decor. (Guests receive a 20% off coupon for their purchase from Dig).
Want to swim, any season of the year? Vashon's local athletic club is just 5-minutes from your stay and offers affordable guest passes that include use of a wonderful glass enclosed high saline-metered pool, a professional gym as well as a racket ball court and a heated sauna
Need to pop over to the city? The ferries from either the Northend (to Seattle) or the Southend (to Tacoma) are a quick 15-minute drive away, with the ferry schedule easily accessible online or your mobile device.
Because my home is nestled close to the water, deep into Vashon island, you'll want to have a car (trust me: You'll really want one). Although Vashon offers public transportation it is sometimes spotty and often a tedious way to get around, especially in the fall and winter months.+ More
