Black's Bay Lodge ("BBay") is a rustic waterfront private residence cottage vacation rental in Northern Ontario Canada that is open for families, visitors and cottage renters from around the world.
We are a fully green private residence, Eco-tourism ready, as we generate all our own electrical power using solar and wind sources (powered by Green Energy). We love our Green Energy Cottage.
We would be interested in having you, your friends, your business associates, and your family come visit us and enjoy our Canadian wilderness in the comfort of our waterfront cottage and private residence you can rent.
We specialize in family vacations (ie. 1 or more parents 25 yrs old or older, plus children &/or extended family members such as parents, grandparents, grandchildren, Aunt/Uncle, cousins, etc.).
Check out all the available activities at or near our cottage: http://blacksbay.com/activities/activities.htm
After coming up the spiral staircase, the Master Bedroom is straight ahead with a large window looking out over Lake Huron, and double French doors out onto the 2nd. floor deck. Looking from the opposite side of the Master bedroom, we see the bed width of a standard double bed; sleeping 2 people with lots of room to spare. The foam rubber mattress is 5" thick; giving excellent comfort in all sleeping positions. I'm 6 ft. 3" tall (1.91 meters), so I made the bunks extra long to ensure everyone's comfort; especially mine. If you are over 7 ft. tall, there is room to extend the feet out past the end of the bed.
If you are having lots of guests, or have a very big family, the bunks in all the rooms can sleep 8 people in the main lodge. The bunk beds in Bedroom # 2 on the 2nd. floor sleep another 4 people. This room has two large windows facing South overlooking Lake Huron. The door at the end has a screen door leading onto the 2nd. floor deck overlooking Lake Huron. There are two chairs and a table for your morning coffee on the deck. Unless you install blackout curtains, it is impossible to sleep the day away in this bright, cheery room with an excellent view.
Beside the spiral staircase is another stairway to the loft (attic). There is a child's desk for colouring, a games table, and numerous indoor games for rainy weather or evenings.
North-West Bedroom #3 is 16' x 10' and has a double bed (5" thick foam mattress), and window looking out onto the upper deck and the setting sun each evening.
North-East bedroom (# 4) is 10' x 16' with double bed (5" thick foam mattress), antique caned chair, and window looking out onto cedar forest and sunset views.
