The town of Shediac is a 3-minute car ride, or a 20-minute walk, to amenities such as grocery stores, bakeries, restaurants ranging from fine cuisine to family dining, pharmacies, and a medical clinic.
The cottage is just a 20-minute drive from Moncton and about 45 minutes from Confederation Bridge, which links New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island. Shediac is known as the â??lobster capital of the worldâ? and is home to the Shediac Lobster Festival held in July. Visit the World's Largest Lobster, a sculpture and roadside attraction located in Rotary Park. Parlee Beach, has some of the warmest salt water north of Virginia, and offers a range of activities such as swimming, kayaking, windsurfing, bay cruises and lobster trapping tours.
This ecotourist area is a 25-minute drive away and features marine and aquatic animals and plants including shorebirds and migratory birds from Atlantic puffins and great blue herons to sandpipers and bald eagles.
Kouchibouguac National Park
This national park is located about one hour from the cottage and offers a variety of outdoor activities that include hiking, swimming, bird watching (the endangered Piping Plover), kayaking, cycling and picnicking.
Bay of Fundy National Park and Hopewell Rocks
This national park is about one and a half hours drive and offers activities like golfing, swimming, hiking, kayaking, bird watching and cycling. The Hopewell Rocks are situated in the park and this natural attraction is home to the highest tides in the world.
