Willow Lake House is a stunning waterfront property in Wellington, featuring a newly furnished and renovated three bedroom and two bath bungalow, that is ideal for family vacations or quiet season getaways. This property features beautiful and private south facing frontage on Lake Ontario, while being within easy reach of Wellington amenities.
Formerly the Mayor’s house, Willow Lake House enjoys a well-appointed position set back from the road on a 2.3 acre lot, within close proximity of an LCBO and nearby restaurants, and a short stroll to The Drake Devonshire (15 minutes). Bring bikes and access the Millennium Trail from across the road; take in a round of golf at Wellington-on-the-Lake (also across the road); let kids skateboard up and down the 600 metre driveway to their hearts’ content; or simply watch the beautiful sunsets from the waterside deck.
Spectacular views of the lake greet you upon arrival with an expansive backyard overlooking the 137’ waterfront, lakeside cedar deck/lounge area and 20’ x 50’ deck with seating for 8 at the outdoor table, plenty of bench seating, loungers and an outdoor sofa. Cook your feasts using a new Broil King natural gas bbq. The grounds are landscaped with flowers for seasonal interest and lots of lawn for playing any outdoor sports.
Inside, enjoy a relaxed beach-themed atmosphere, with County inspired touches. The common areas are perfect for reconnecting with family and friends whether in the bright eat-in kitchen; open dining/living room with Satellite TV and board games; or in the family room with couch and wood burning fireplace. The 9’ dining table seats 8 comfortably. Outside activities can include shooting hoops or playing soccer on the manicured lawn in front of the house. Bocce ball is also an option.
Due to the 15 foot escarpment and unfettered access to the waterfront, this property is suitable for children ages 8 and up. The lake is accessible by newly-built stairs and railing and, once down at the shore, limestone ledges extend into the water, which is clean and clear for swimming. Waterfront access can be slippery and this property would not be suitable for those not comfortable navigating this type of shoreline. There are no weeds and the rocks are mostly flat. We recommend guests bring water shoes.
Grab a couple Muskoka chairs and sit out by the water on the waterfront deck. An ideal spot for kayaking or launching a canoe. The house enjoys an unobstructed view of the Sandbanks park in the distance, on a sheltered bay.
Amenities include contemporary and comfortable furnishings throughout, Central Air Conditioning, Wifi, Ceiling fans and reading lights in bedrooms, 50” Satellite TV, DVD player, Bluetooth speaker, Dishwasher, Washer/Dryer, N’Espresso and Delfino coffee machines, Natural Gas bbq, Municipal water (no well or septic), Hot water on demand, Basketball hoop and more.
